Firstly, new laws which have been introduced in France mean that GPS software which warns drivers about speed cameras is not only banned, but it’s also illegal. It is now also becoming mandatory for all GPS units to feature a breathalyser function, for use by the police. Both of these laws make equipping drivers with a GPS, a slightly irritating and in some cases outright difficult or expensive process in bulk.
